Are you good with
names? Figuring out faces? Recognizing places? Do you have interesting
photos of early and/or present-day Chinese American communities
in Southern California to share? If so, then come and join us
on Photo Day, a free public event presented by the Chinese American
Museum. Help us build our Photo Collection database while treating
yourself to a pleasant walk down memory lane! You
can participate in Photo Day through one or both of the following:
Photo Identification
Various copies of the Museum’s Photo Collection will be
displayed for public viewing. Help is needed in identifying
the people, place, date, or occasion of each photograph so that
they may be correctly labeled for exhibition.
Photo Donations
The Museum will be collecting photograph donations focusing
on Southern California’s Chinese American communities
from the 1850’s to the present, fitting the themes of
immigration, community history, early enterprise, and
Chinese American family photos. The donations can be
originals or reprints and photo credits will be provided if
used for exhibitions.
*Please note: Donations are not guaranteed
to be used in exhibits.
