The Chinese American Museum

888 CAM Circle

Dear Friends:

Great News! As you may have heard, the City of Los Angeles has designated the remainder of the historical Garnier Building for Chinese American Museum use, effectively doubling more than our current floor space. This is truly a triumph for CAM and the entire Chinese American community!

We invite you to join and share the excitement!

To help initiate the great expansion adventure, we invite you, as one of our select supporters, to help with the start up of the expansion development by providing a special tax-deductible contribution to build up a seed money fund. Our seed money fund is in the finest CAM tradition. Twenty years ago, Mr. Howard Quon, a notable Chinatown leader who was raised in the Garnier Building, mobilized and inspired Los Angeles Chinatown families to contribute one thousand dollars each to help start CAM. That tradition continues today. Proceeds will be used to conduct start-up planning and designing for innovative programs, exhibits, and vital tenant improvements needed for CAM to grow in both size and vision.

We invite you to join the 888 CAM Circle.

To celebrate this auspicious occasion, we are thrilled to introduce our newest and most distinguished membership level to date. As the number suggests, the 888 CAM Circle will include no more than 888 members who will each donate a minimum of $888—a truly lucky and prosperous numerical combination in the Chinese culture! This exclusive fund will close its membership any time after our targeted goal of $750,000 is reached.

What are 888 CAM Circle benefits?

To honor your generous contribution, your name (or one name of your choice) will be placed on the all-new Expansion Donors’ Wall, to be constructed in a unique area within the Museum. In addition, you will also receive a special Certificate of Appreciation for your donation.

To join, please print out this application form and mail it with your donation to the Friends of the Chinese American Museum.

Enhance your CAM experience today by joining us at this prestigious new level! We thank you kindly for your consideration and for your continuing dedication and support of CAM.

Good luck and prosperity to you always.

Sincerely yours,

Munson Kwok
Development Chair
