RE: Assembly Bill 268

Dear Assemblymember Cedillo:

I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for Assembly Bill 268, a measure that will allocate a grant toward the development of the Chinese American Museum (CAM) in Los Angeles. The passage of AB 268 is the crucial step which will bring about a successful Museum opening in the year 2000.

The Chinese American Museum will be an excellent resource for the public to learn about the Chinese Americans' roles in the economic, social, political, and cultural development of California. The Museum will also serve as a local and statewide educational center for the exchange of ideas and experiences related to living in multicultural America.

CAM is working in partnership with the City of Los Angeles and the Chinese American community to secure additional funding for this important museum. I am proud to support Assembly Bill 268, and I look forward to the State of California joining this partnership by bringing the Chinese American Museum to the people of California.
