The Chinese American Museum is Seeking
DOCENTS!!
Participate in our DOCENT
PROGRAM! Join a wonderful group of dedicated people who are
interested in sharing Chinese American history, culture and
art. Enjoy expanding your knowledge, understanding, and appreciation
of Chinese American history, culture, art and experiences.
Main Responsibilities
Twice a month for one year, volunteer Docents will guide and
engage visitors through the Chinese American Museum by providing
insightful historical and curatorial knowledge and background
information about exhibitions. Volunteer Docents will have the
opportunity to work with a wide-range of visitors including
students, educators, families and tourists. Weekday and weekend
docents are needed.
Training Will Be Provided
Volunteer docents will participate in an in-depth training program
that will include interesting reading material, guest lecturers
and a guided Museum tour.
Fall 2006 Training Days
All training will take place at the Chinese American Museum.
The next training days are the following THREE consecutive Tuesdays
and a fourth Tuesday two weeks later:
October 17th / 10:30 am - 1pm
October 24th / 10:30 am - 1pm
October 31st / 10:30 am - 1pm
TUESDAY, November 14th / 10:30 am - 1pm
General Requirements
Volunteers interested in becoming docents must like working
with people, especially children and must have an interest in
learning about Chinese American history/culture.
