What are the benefits
of a Gallery-sitter?
Working as a gallery-sitter places you within
a rich learning environment where you will enjoy an up-close-and-personal
look at the Museum and its exhibits. Through interactions with
the exhibits and the community, you will be able to attain a
more intimate knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Chinese
American history, culture, and experiences.
What are the
responsibilities of a Gallery-sitter?
Gallery-sitters will help to ensure the safety of exhibits by
preventing visitors from any direct, physical interactions with
the artifacts. They will also help visitors observe the “no
eating/drinking/smoking” policy inside the Museum. In
a sense, Gallery-sitters will act as a security measure against
any unruly or inappropriate behavior from the public, while
inside the Museum. On occasions, Gallery-sitters will answer
general questions from the public about the exhibits.
